130 Is 30254 to 30766
The Mogul series 8s numbers between 30254 and 30766 are locomotive with vapor built by the Compagnie of the railroads of the East by its workshops located at Epernay on the basis of old 030 of the company, which were useful also basic for part of the series 130 Is 30252 to 30428 (future: 1-130 has between 252 and 428 ). The transformations were made between 1909 and 1926 for a total of 92 machines while keeping the old numbers and by adding only 30 in front. In 1938 the 92 machines became the 1-130 B between 254 and 489 and 701 and 766 with the SNCF.
Service
Starting from 1938 their cousins, the 130 Is 30252 to 30428 (future: 1-130 has between 252 and 428 ), disappeared from the inventories relatively quickly whereas the 1-130 B knew for certain a career of almost 109 years by counting the period when they were of the type 030 (what constitutes undoubtedly a record of longevity!). Indeed at the date of radiation of the last 1-130 there have still remained 32 machines in service. The Railroads Secondary of the East rented some nearly a score to the the SNCF and this until in 1969 with the radiation of the 4 last 1-130 B of the deposit of Gray. In 1954, 3 machines assigned to the deposit of Lumes, accepted tenders coming from the 220 Is 2401 to 2432 (future: 1-220 has 401 to 432 ) to ensure the trains of the area of Monthermé where only the 1-130 B were allowed on the lines. During the Second world war the Germans took along unquestionable a number of these machines and 4 of enter they never returned, their radiation (administrative) intervening in 1948. For the 030 not transformed the reform took place before 1938.
Description
These machines had expansion and two cylinders a motor simple. The hearth was of type “Belpaire” and the exhaust with valves replaced on certain units per clover with 3 jets. The distribution was interior and of the type “Stephanson”. The Essieu before was treated in Bissel of the type “Is” with a side displacement of approximately 42 Misters In fact these machines are very resembling the 130 Is 30252 to 30428 (future: 1-130 has between 252 and 428 ) put aside the engine.
Transformation
The undergone transformations are connected more with one rebuilding because apart from the frame, of the train of wheel and the distribution it was preserved only the parts of details such as: whistles, plugs, couvre-roues, etc As one had to expect these engines it are shown more stable, more economic and more powerful than the machines of origin. With these qualities which their gave a good unconventional behavior and a low mass to the Essieu they were suited to all the services on all the lines of the network. Moreover results obtained on the maintenance costs, the facility of starting, the simplicity of control, etc made that the Compagnie of the railroads of the East continued the transformation very a long time and on a greater number of units compared to their cousins compound.
Tender
The tenders which theirs were coupled were several types and were the same ones as for their cousins with an exception near:
- the same ones as those of the 021 Is 441 to 485 (future: 1-021 has between 446 and 478 ), namely of the tenders with 2 axles containing 7 m ³ water and 5 T of coal registered 826 to 958 then 1-7 have 826 to 958
- the same ones as those of the 021 Is 441 to 485 (future: 1-021 has between 446 and 478 ) and of the 030 Is 3001 to 3014 (future: 1-030 B between 1 and 14 ), namely of the tenders always with 2 axles but containing 10 m ³ water and 5 T of coal registered 371 to 427 then 1-10 always has 371 to 427
- tenders with 2 axles and containing 13 m ³ water and 5 T of coal registered 2001 to 2065 then 1-13 has 1 to 65 with a frame similar to the 10 always has 371 to 427
- tenders with 2 axles with same capacity that the 1-13 has 1 to 65 but with a longer footing registered 2066 with 2105 then 1-13 B 66 to 105
- of the tenders always with 2 axles with same capacity that the 1-13 has 1 to 65 and the same frame as the 1-13 B 66 to 105 but different on some registered details 2106 to 2232 then 1-13 C 106 to 232
- and finally the exceptions which were tenders with 3 axles containing 20 m ³ water and 6 T of coal registered 1841 to 1872 then 1-20 has 42 to 72 coming from the 220 Is 2401 to 2432 (future: 1-220 has 401 to 432 )
