12th regiment of infantry of line
The 12th regiment of infantry of line is a French regiment created at the end of the Ancien Mode starting from battalions of the Régiment of the Navy.
Creation and various denominations
- 1776 : Creation from 2nd and 4th battalions of the Regiment of the Navy under the name of Regiment of Resident of Auxerre .
- 1791 : famous 12th Regiment of Infantry of Line .
- 1794 : 12th Half-Brigade of Battle , formed by:
- 2nd Battalion, 6 {{E}} Regiment of Infantry
- 9th Battalion of volunteers of the Handle.
- 12th Battalion of volunteers of the English Channel.
- 1796 : 12th Half-Brigade of Infantry of Line , formed by:
- 60 {{E}} Half-brigade of Battle.
- 170 {{E}} Half-brigade of Battle.
- 1803 : famous 12th Regiment of Infantry of Line .
- 1815 : he is laid off at the time of the Second Restoration.
- 1816 : creation of the ? E legion -? - Infantry of line
- 1820: re-elected the 12th Regiment of Infantry of Line .
