- May: Saint Bonaventure is named cardinal and archbishop of Albano by the pope Gregoire X.
- September 29th: The election with Frankfurt of Rodolphe Ier de Habsbourg as Germanic Roman Emperor (until in 1291) puts an end to the Great Interregnum and marks the beginning of the dynasty of the Habsbourg. Rodolphe de Habsbourg stops forwardings in Italy and seeks to restore peace within the limits of the Empire. But the emancipation of the great principalities German started as of the end of the reign of Frederic II reduces his authority considerably.
- October 24th: Crowning of Rodolphe Ier de Habsbourg enmperor with Aachen.
- Synod of the Russian Church with Vladimir. The métropolite of Kiev, Cyrille II, establishes with Vladimir, fixes the rules of the conditions of the recruitment of the priests.

- Foundation in Spain of “ the Honourable assembly of the mesta of the shepherds ” which gathers the large stockbreeders who make transplant their herds. The sheep follow the three “ cañadas reales ” (Leonesa, Segoviana and of Mancha) to go down from North towards the Extremadure or the Andalusia. In 1477, 2.694.032 sheep will transplant. This breeding is turned towards the production of wool exported towards the Flanders. Its effects on sedentary agriculture are harmful, and of the multiple conflicts burst with the peasants, who turn to the advantage of the stockbreeders among which appear of ecclesiastical great landowners (orders of Santiago, Alcantara and Calatrava) and the largest lords of Castille.
