• September: The mérinide Abou Youssef seizes Marrakech, putting a term at the domination Almohade on the Morocco.

Asia

• Qaïdu makes peace overtures to Barak, khan of Djaghataï. This last receives the Transoxiane and recognizes the suzerainty of Qaïdu, which founds its empire in the valley of the Ili and with the Eastern Turkestan. Qaïdu sends its new vassal to fight Abaqa, it-qan of Iran, with order to remove the Afghanistan to him.

• June 19th: In accordance with the council of Lateran, Louis IX imposes on the Juifs the port of a yellow cloth or felt part.

• Louis IX of France rents sixteen boats with Genoa and twenty with Marseilles to ensure the passage of the Eighth crusade. The fleet is ordered by a French admiral. The treaty leaves to the king whole freedom to maneuver.

• the LAMA Tibetan Phags-Pa, authorized by Kubilai Khan to diffuse the Buddhism in China, creates the writing known as Phags-Pa, which is used by the chancellery of the khan for the administrative businesses. The Mongolian language becomes the official language of the dynasty.

• the captain génois Doria would have used a Portulan on the boat of Louis IX.
• Opus majus “principal Work” of Roger Bacon written at the request of the pope Clement IV. He defends there the need for a reform of sciences, starting from new methods of study of the languages and nature. The Opus majus is an encyclopedia of all science, including/understanding Grammaire and Logique, Mathématiques, Physique, experimental Recherche and moral Philosophie.
