- the almohade Abdallah-Adil, proclaimed caliph in Spain in competition with Abd el-Ouahid, is beaten by Abou Mohammed while the Moroccan chiefs indicate Yahya Al-Mutasim, nephew of Adil, as caliph. The brother of Adil, El Mahmoun, wishing to be in his sovereign turn, made concessions with the king Ferdinand III of Castille, then manages to be binding to the sheiks, but the governors of the empire do not obey the sovereigns almohade any more.
