11th regiment of infantry of line
The 11th regiment of infantry of line is a French regiment created by the cardinal Richelieu, in 1635.
Creation and various denominations
- 1621 : Company Frank of Marines.
- 1635 : Creation by the Cardinal of Richelieu under the name of Regiment Cardinal-Duke .
- 1636 : famous Regiment of the Navy .
- 1776 : Its 2e and 4e battalions form the Régiment of Resident of Auxerre .
- 1791 : famous 11e Regiment of Infantry of Line .
- 1794 : integrated in the 21e Half-Brigade of Battle and 22e Half-Brigade of Battle.
- 1796 : reformed as a 11th Half-Brigade of Infantry of Line , made of:
- 20th Half-Brigade of Battle.
- 103e Half-Brigade of Battle.
- 1803 : famous 11th Regiment of Infantry of Line .
- 1814 : during the First Restoration, famous 11th Regiment of Infantry of Line-Berry .
- 1815 : during the Hundred Days, it takes again its name 11th Regiment of Infantry of Line
- 1815: he is laid off at the time of the Second Restoration.
- 1816 : creation of the Legion of the Gold Coast (Infantry of line).
- 1820 : it is famous the 11th Regiment of Infantry of Line .
- 1854 : it takes its final name, 11th Regiment of Infantry .
- 1914 : to the mobilization, it gives rise to the 211 {{E}} Régiment of Infantry
