11th marine artillery regiment

The 11th Regiment of marine artillery is an artillery gun regiment, support of the BLBMa. Composed of approximately 950 men, it is equipped with guns TRF1 and mortar

History

The 11th Marine artillery Regiment is resulting from the 1 {{er}} Régiment of artillery Coloniale and from the Régiment of Coloniale artillery of Raising.
Le 1st RAC, created with Port-Louis in 1785, carries name “Regiment of the East”. 11th out of preserve the currency “Alter Post Fulmina Terror Rowed” (other terror after the lightning) and carries this Appellation on its badge.
En 1919, the 11th Regiment Malagasy Mixed Coloniale artillery is born and becomes, in 1924, Autonomous Groupe of Colonial Artillery of Raising then RACL. At the same time, the 11th RAC derived from the 1st RAC is born with Lorient.
Disparu in 1940, the 11th RAC reappears starting from the RACL in 1945. It is recreated in a final way in 1948 starting from the 1st Group of the 1st RAC and settles with Dinan.
Rebaptized 11th Rowed in June 1963, it joined the Moor of Ouée to Saint-Aubin-of-Cormier the (35) in 1979.

Specificity

11th RAMa is a organic Régiment of the 9 {{E}} BLBMa for which it is charged with the support fires with its 155 TRF1 and its mortar S of 120  mm in double equipment. Its Bigor S cultivates their versatility of “Marsouin S which draws with the gun”. Loans with being committed in grouping of walk, they are involved with the techniques Amphibie S as of their initial training.

Presentation

Very attached to its membership of the Troops of navy and established well in Brittany, 11th RAMa is professional since the years 1970. The always marked Polyvalence of the regiment allows him, with or without its pieces of artillery, to be present throughout the world permanently.
Seul regiment of artillery present in the first War of the Gulf during the Operation Daguet in 1990 with its gun of 155  mm TRF1, 11th RAMa as well ensures of the missions of supports fires (Rwanda 1994, Democratic republic of Congo 2003, Coast-with Ivoire 2004-2005, Chad 2005) as missions of assistance and interventions external (Afghanistan 2003-2004, Corymbe 2002, Kosovo 2005) and provides units PROTERRE in interior projection (G8 Evian, Vigipirate ) and external (Dom-Tom).

Inscriptions on its Flag

Its flag bears 8 names of battle: It is decorated with the Légion of honor 1910, of the Military Cross 1914-1918. It was twice quoted with the order of the army in 1916 and 1918 (2 palms), of the Military Cross of the external theaters of operations with palm and star. Its personnel is entitled to the port of the Fourragère to the colors of the ribbon of the Military Cross 14-18. Two of its batteries were quoted with the order of the army in 1927 and another in 1978.
