- February 21st: Minamoto No Yoshinaka dies in the Bataille of Awazu.
- March 18th: Victoire of the Minamoto on the Will conceal from the Bataille of Ichi-No-Tani.
- October 8th: Minamoto No Noriyori share in shift in the Area of Chūgoku with a force of 30.000 men.
- October 26th: Battle of Kojima: Noriyori tackles with its riders a Taira force which flees in boat.
North Africa
- Unloading of the Almoravides of the Balearic Islands, the Banu Ghaniya, with Algiers and Candle, then with the hands of the Almohades. They find supports at the Hammadides and the Hilaliens and carry out raids devastators during fifty years on all the Center and Is the Maghreb.
- July 29th:
- In Spain, the almohade Abu Yaqub Yusuf combat successfully the Christian offensive, but is killed with the seat of Santarem.
- Reign of Abu Yusuf Yaqub Al-Mansur, caliph Almohade (1184-1199).
- Abu Yusuf Yaqub Al-Mansur installs its capital with Rabat ( Ribat and Fath , “convent, camp of the victory”).
The Middle East
- Saladin carries out raids in Galileo.
- Isaac Comnène takes Cyprus.
- Baudouin IV of Jerusalem is touched more and more by the Lèpre. Two parties clash for the capacity. That of Raymond of Tripoli, favorable to an arrangement with Saladin and that, extremist, of Renaud de Châtillon, the former prince of Antioche.
- March 27th: Beginning of the reign of Thamar Anger of Georgia with died of Georges III. Apogee of the kingdom of Georgia under the reign of the queen Thamar (fine in 1213). It pushes its armies until Trébizonde, extending its kingdom of the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea and of the the Caucasus to the Azerbaïdjan, and is at the origin of a true cultural rebirth.

- Mars: Philippe Auguste joins together the council of Senlis where he threatens to break his union for consanguinity with Isabelle de Hainaut.
- Spring: The Basileus Andronic Ier Comnène begins negotiations with Venice for an alliance anti-Norman.
- June 15th: Battle of Fimreite in Norway. Naval Victoire of Sverre Sigurdsson on its candidate Magnus V who is killed. Beginning of the reign of Sverre, king of Norway (fine in 1202).
- July: Counter-offensive of the Almohades in Spain which again impose the Tage like border after the catch by the Christians of Alcacer, Evora, Serpa and Moura.
- October 29th: The emperor Frederic Barberousse promises in marriage his son, the future Henri VI with the heiress of the Sicily, Constance, girl of Guillaume II of Sicily to Mainz, known as Pentecost de Barberousse (marriage celebrated the January 27th 1186).
- November: A pontifical Bubble of Lucius III, AD aboldendam condemns the various forms of Hérésie: Cathares, Of Vaud, Patarins, etc
- the Lucius pope takes refuge with Vérone vis-a-vis the commune of Rome. It joins together there a council which condemns the néo-Manicheans (Cathares) against which it institutes the episcopal Inquisition. The Lyons preacher Pierre Valdès is excommunicated. He however continues to preach by accentuating his hostility with the catholic hierarchy. Part of the Vaudois is established in the South of France, is opposed to the Cathares and will be recovered by preaching of Saint Dominique. Another fraction passes to Italy then to Central Europe and will be pursued by the ecclesiastical authority.

- Robert I {{er}} of Dreux yields the Comté of Dreux to his/her son Robert II.
