- the Khmer empire reaches its apogee with the Kampuchea.
- In India, end of the dynasty Châlukya with died of Someshvara, wire of Bijjala.
Japan
- March 21st: Beginning of the reign of the emperor Antoku of the Japan.
- May 5th: Call to the weapons of the prince Mochihito, isolated of the throne of Japan. Beginning of the War of Gempei.
- June: Will conceal No Kiyomori made move the capital of Japan with Fukuhara (current the Kōbe). It is redéplacée in Kyōto in November.
