- September 7th: Henri II Plantagenêt becomes count of Anjou.
- Géza II of Hungary pays homage to the emperor Conrad III. To protect its Eastern border, it attracts the German colonists of the Rhineland, the Luxembourg and Lower Saxony in Transylvania. It subjects the Serbia to a tribute.
