• Conquest of the the Maghreb by the Almohades of Abd Al-Mumin (fine in 1160). Candle and the kingdom Hammadide is annexed (1151).

• Nur AD-DIN, atabek of Damas and Homs, definitively makes sure the possession of Edesse and all the county.

Europe

• January 10th: died of Thibaut IV of Blois.

• Thibaut V becomes count of Blois.
• Henri 1 {{er}} the Liberal becomes count of Troyes (fine in 1181).
• September 7th: Henri II Plantagenêt becomes count of Anjou.

• Géza II of Hungary pays homage to the emperor Conrad III. To protect its Eastern border, it attracts the German colonists of the Rhineland, the Luxembourg and Lower Saxony in Transylvania. It subjects the Serbia to a tribute.

• Foundation of the kingdom of Lithuania.

• War between Iziaslav II of Kiev, combined with the Hungary and Vladimirko of Galitch.

• January 11th: Thibaut IV of Blois (or Thibaut II of Champagne ), count de Blois, of Chartres, of Meaux, of Châteaudun and of Sancerre, lord of Amboise (1102 -1151), count de Troyes and Champagne .

• January 13rd: Suger, man of the church and French statesman, abbot of Saint-Denis, member of the Council of the king and regent of the Kingdom of France at the time of the Second crusade of 1147 with 1149.
• January 14th: Etienne de Garlande, archdeacon of the Co.-Marie Church, which rose with the site of Notre-Dame de Paris before the construction of the cathedral, Chancelier of France of 1118 with 1127.
• September 7th: Geoffroy V of Anjou (38 years), count d' Anjou and of Maine, then duke of Normandy, called “ Geoffroy the Juste ” or “ Geoffroy Plantagenêt ”, founder of the dynasty of the Plantagenêt S of the kings d' Angleterre. (° August 24th 1113).
