The Middle East

  • the Turks, threatened by the victory of the Abbasid caliph `, make their unit around one only applicant saljûqide, Massoud, the brother of Mahmoud II. Massoud is presented to Baghdad to obtain its crown of the hands of the caliph Al-Mustarchid, who benefits from it to sermonize it at the time of the ceremony (January).
  • In June, Al-Mustarchid walk on Mosul, decided well to finish some with Zanki. Massoud does not seek from of to dissuade it, suggesting to him even joining together the Syria and the Iraq in only one State under its authority. Zanki, helped in writing pad by Massoud, resists during three months the seat of the caliph, who must give up.

Death in 1133

  • Sæmundr Sigfusson inn fródhi, the “Scientist” (born in 1056), Icelandic historian. It would have made its studies with Paris with the svarti Skóla (“black school”). Its writings, in Latin, are lost today. They treated Norwegian kings and tried to establish a chronological agreement between the principal facts of the Norwegian history and those of Icelandic annals.
