May 23rd: Beginning of the reign of Lothaire II of Supplinburg or Saxony, Germanic Roman Emperor (fine in 1137). Lothaire supplants Frederic and Conrad of Hohenstaufen, but must fight them, which starts the quarrel of the Guelfes (Welfs of Bavaria) and of the Gibelins (Hohenstaufen de Souabe) of 1125 with 1152.
- Lothaire invested Albert the Bear of the Lusace (Ostmark). He concedes the county of Holstein with Adolphe Ier de Schauenburg.
- Ladislas II the Outlaw wife Agnes de Babenberg, the girl of the Margrave of Austria Léopold III.
