- Beginning of the reign of Alaungsithu, king of Pagan in Burma (fine in 1167).
- Beginning of the reign of Suryavarman II, king of the Khmer Kampuchea (fine in 1152).
- Apogee of the empire of Angkor under the reign of Suryavarman II. It close the Burma, the Đai Vietnamese soldier and the Champâ.

The Middle East
- Baudouin Ier of Jerusalem is turned over against Tyr, considered impregnable, which shelters a great number of Moslem refugees (1112). The Francs build a mobile tower equipped with a ram which shakes the wall. Tyriens, using hooks, on several occasions manage to unbalance the tower, then to set fire to it. After 133 days of seat, the Francs must evacuate the tower and beat a retreat (April 10th). The defenders benefit from it to operate an exit and to seize many abandoned weapons.

- Beginning of a revolt against Henri V in Saxony, Plank and Westphalia (fine in 1116).

February 3rd: Raimond-Berenger III of Barcelona becomes by its marriage with Douce of Gévaudan count of Provence.
- Revolt of the commune of Laon against the lord bishop Gaudry.
- April 25th: The bishop of Laon, Gaudry, opposed to the communal movement, is assassinated at the time of a riot.

November 1st: Beginning of the reign of Alphonse Henriques, count de Portugal, then three years old, under the regency of his/her mother Therese de León. With died of the count Henri of Portugal, his succession is asserted at the same time by its widow, the queen Therese and by her son Alphonse-Henri. Therese is based on the Galician aristocracy, her son on the Portuguese (1128).
Art & culture
- Spring: Bernard of Fountain-the-Dijon enters to the monastery of Cîteaux. It will become after three years of monastic life, at 24 years, the chief of the foundation of Clairvaux.
