sultan saldjûqide Barkyaruq (Berk-Yaruq) dies of tuberculosis, which puts an end to war fratricidal that it carried out against his brother Mohammed Ibn Malikshah (Muhammed Ier), who becomes the only Master of the Iraq, of the Western Syria and Persia and the authority restores temporarily. Muhammed Ier reign until in 1118.

Baudouin Ier of Jerusalem pushes back an offensive fatimide supported by the Atabey of Damas to Ramla.

Hardly released (1104), Bohémond d' Antioche, combined with Baudouin d' Edesse, threatened by the atabek of Mosul and the emir de Mardin, is beaten close to Harran. Baudouin is made prisoner. Ridwan of Alep takes Artah and other places which order the outlet on the plain of Antioche, while the Byzantines occupy the towns of Cilicie. Leaving regency to Tancrède, Bohémond leaves to Occident to cause a new crusade which would be directed against the “treacherous” Byzantines with the Christian cause.
