10th regiment of infantry of line

The 10th Regiment of Infantry of Line is a Régiment French created at the end of the Ancien Mode starting from battalions of the regiment of Normandy.

Creation and various denominations

  • 1776 : Creation from 1st and 3rd battalions of the Regiment of Normandy under the name of Regiment of Neustrie .
  • 1791 : famous 10th Regiment of Infantry of Line .
  • 1794: reformed in 10th Half-Brigade of Battle , starting from the following units:
    • 2nd battalion of the 5 {{E}} Regiment of Infantry
    • 1st and 2nd battalions of the volunteers of Indre-et-Loire
  • 1796: reformed in 10th Half-Brigade of Infantry of Line , starting from the following units:
    • 53 {{E}} Half-Brigade of Battle, it even made up of:
      • 1st battalion of the 27 {{E}} Regiment of Infantry
      • 1st battalion of volunteers of the the Low-Rhine
      • 3rd battalion of volunteers of the the Moselle
    • 159 {{E}} half-brigade of battle, it even made up of:
      • 1st battalion of the 88 {{E}} Regiment of Infantry
      • 12th battalion of volunteers of the the Jura
      • 4th battalion of volunteers of the Coast-with Or
  • September 24th, 1803: famous 10th Regiment of Infantry of Line
  • 1914: To the mobilization, it gives rise to the 210 {{E}} Régiment of Infantry

According to the documents found with the departmental records and municipal, the 10th regiment of infantry of line under colonel Charles Ardant of Picq is in garrison in Limoges of 1865 to 1870, in company of the 10 {{E}} Régiment of Dragons.
