1080i

1080i is a video definition high-definition of: 1920×: 1080 Pixel S in interlaced, i.e. for each screen, there is only half of the received lines, is 540, just as easily into 50 like 60 Hz. The image has a report/ratio of 16/9 E. The 1080i is in particular used by the Télévision and can be posted without loss of quality by the apparatuses carrying a logo Full HD .

The “1080” indicate a vertical definition while the abbreviation “I” is used to indicate the sweeping interlaced ( interlaced in English) of the image.

A complete designation of the format requires to specify the number of screens a second, example: 1080i50 (for 50 screens a second) or 1080i60 (for 60 screens a second).
