Boleslas II the Generous must give up the crown of Poland and be exiled in Hungary. His/her younger brother Ladislas Ier Hermann succeeds to him.
- Boleslas II is excommunicated and deposited for the assassination of Saint Stanislas, bishop of Cracow, who had condemned his violences and his vices, and without doubts for political reasons (it had taken the head of a revolt of the nobility). Boleslas is exiled in Hungary and his/her brother Ladislas Hermann succeeds to him. This last will vainly fight the aristocracy, which will manage Poland. It seems a man of the emperor Henri IV, of which it marries the girl Judith. It agrees to pay tribute for the Silesia and gives up being made crown king.
