  • Toghrul-Beg is proclaimed sultan and emir of the east and the west by the caliph Abbasside (fine in 1063). It beats the general revolted Al-Basãriri.

Europe

  • March 6th: Confirmation by the Pope Etienne IX of the monetary privilege of Cluny.
  • April 25th: Malcolm III '' Canmore '' is crowned king d' Écosse with the Abbaye of Scone.
  • November 2nd: The Byzantine Empereur Isaac I {{er}} Comnène relieves Michel Cérulaire, the patriarch of Constantinople which it finds too powerful. This one dies shortly after.
  • November 28th: Beginning of the reign of Boleslas II the Generous or the Bold one, duke (1058 - 1076), then king of Poland (fine in 1079).
    • Boleslas restores the power of the Polish State while being released from the double supervision of the aristocracy and the Germanic emperor. It carries out the war against the Bohemia by refusing the Silesian tribute, intervenes with Kiev with the profit of his brother-in-law Iaroslav, then in Hungary to support the large ones.
    • Cracow becomes for five centuries the virtual capital of the Royaume of Poland.
  • December 6th: Beginning of the Pontificate of Nicolas II (fine in 1061). Gerard of Burgundy, archbishop of Florence, is elected by the clergy at the instigation of Pierre Damien and Hildebrand and becomes the 155e pope of the Catholic church.
