  • March 10th: Eudes of Poitiers;
  • Alhazen ( Ibn Al-Haytham ), scientist, mathematician, philosopher and Arab doctor in Cairo (born in 965), author of a treaty of optics where he studies the phenomena of reflection and refraction. It is the first to advance the idea that the celestial bodies emit their own heat.
