- With the Japan, the revolt of a chief of the clan of the Taira is repressed by Minamoto No Yorinobu.
- the Tangout (Tibetans) destroy the kingdom ouïgour Gansu and found the kingdom of the Xixia (1030 - 1227) in the Ordos, the Alachan and Gansu.
- the State tangout is feudal. The inhabitants are farmers. They have a developed culture and use a writing based on the Chinese ideograms.
- Beginning of the reign of Thai Ly Tuna, king of the Vietnam (fine in 1054).

Mieszko II of Poland lance an attack against the Walk of the East saxonne to the beginning of the year.
- April 14th: Henri III is elected king of Germanie.
- November 11th: Beginning of the reign of Zoe (978 - 1050) and of Théodora (v. 995 - 1056), empresses Byzantine.
- November 12th: The great landowner Romain Argyre marries Zoe, girl of Constantin VIII and Helene Alypios and reaches the empire dead of Constantin.
- November 15th: Beginning of the reign of Romain III Argyre, Byzantine Emperor (fine in 1034). Théodora is évincée by his/her Zoe sister.
- Knut Large the, king of England and the Denmark, makes the conquest of the Norway.
- Knut the Large one unloads in Norway. Olav II Haraldsson which tries to impose Christianity in Norway, is beaten by noble pagan Norwegian supported by Knut the Large one. It takes refuge with Novgorod. Knut then entrusts Norway to the Jarl Håkon Eiriksson and returns to England after having given the government of the Denmark to his/her son Hardeknut.
- the king de Navarre Sancho III Garcia the Great fact the conquest of the Castille. The States de Sanche III Garcia extend on almost all Christian Spain (Navarre, Castille, Aragon, Sobrarbe and Ribagorza). They will be divided with its death in 1035 between its four sons.
- the Concile of Charroux is convened on the initiative of Guillaume VI of Aquitaine to study the means of fighting “the error cathare”.

- Jean Mavropous founds a private school exempting an higher education with Constantinople. It teaches Plato there. The great minds of the 11th century, Psellos, Xiphillin, Likhoudès, Nicétas Grammairien, attended it.
