- February 13rd: Beginning of the reign of the caliph fatimide Ali to az-Zahir (fine in 1036). Several revolts of the mercenaries burst under his reign;
- the Secte of the Druzes is constituted in Egypt, following mysterious disappearance, close to the Cairo, the Caliph fatimide Al-Hakim:
- In dead Al-Hakim, the Druzes, sect nun ismaïlienne founded by Muhammad ibn Ismaël Al-Darazi and Hamza ibn 'Ali ibn Ahmad, persecuted by the orthodoxe Moslems of Egypt, take refuge in Syria (mountains of the Hawran, the djebel Druze). He survive in spite of various repressions, putting into practice the Taqiyah (dissimulation) not to post their beliefs;
- Several principles of the doctrines Druze are borrowed from the messianism, gnosticism and with the neoplatonism. They believe in the incarnation and the métempsycose. The caliph Al-Hakim would be the last and principal divine incarnation ( maqam ).
- the Turks Saljûqides attack the Arménie. They are demolished by the Bagratide S under the walls of Ani. On the other hand, the kingdom of Vaspourakan, after having pushed back several attacks, is in danger to be submerged. Its king then concluded a feature from exchange with the Byzantine emperor Basile II, from Armenian origin: he gives up to him his kingdom against the city and the area of Sivas (Rosefish) where he will settle with nearly 40.000 of his subjects. This first great migration weakens Arménie.
