  • April 17th: Assassination of Hicham II. Restoration of Suleiman Caliph de Cordoue (fine in 1017).
  • October 10th: Hermann, future count de Verdun, brother of Godefroi II, duke of low-Lorraine is made prisoner at the time of the battle of Tirlemont, opposing the troops of Lambert, count de Louvain, with those of Balderic de Loss, bishop of Liege.

    • Ethelred II of England is driven out of its throne by the Sven Dane. He flees in the island of Wight, then in Normandy, in his father-in-law the duke Richard, and will manage to be restored the following year with dead of Sven.
