38 Special is a group of American Rock founded in 1975 with Jacksonville in Florida. In the beginning, 38 Special was a typical group of the kind Rock Southerner, then, as of the beginning of the year 1980, it was directed towards productions more commercial, ready to fill of the stages. Their audience starts to decline in the end of the year since MTV ceases supporting them.

Donnie Van Zant (song) younger brother of Ronnie Van Zant, founder and singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd is present within the group since its beginnings, without interruption. Among the other members let us quote Don Barnes (song and guitar; leave the group between 1987 and 1991), Ken Lyons (low), Larry Junstrom (low), Danny Chauncey (guitar), Jeff Carlisi (guitar), Steve Brookins (battery) and Scott Hoffman (battery), in particular.
