  • Reigns of Rabel Ier, then of Arétas III Philhellène (fine in -62), kings of Nabatène. Arétas III inaugurates an expansion policy in Syria and makes strike a currency imitating that of the Séleucides.

  • Beginning of the reign of Antiochos XII in Syria.

  • With Rome, Consul At of L. Cornelius Cinna I, Gnaeus Octavius.
  • Departure of Sylla for Asia. In its absence, Cinna directs the movement of the equestrian order and the democrats united against the coup d'etat de Sylla. His/her Octavius colleague, with the head of an armed troop, expels it of Rome and the Senate pronounces officially its dismissal. Cinna succeeds in gaining with its cause the Roman troops left by Sylla in Italy of the South and is presented in front of Rome. Marius, run of Africa, joined it and takes the command as a chief of the city. The city and blocked in its supply. The Senate capitulates and relies on leniency of the winner. Marius is Master of Rome. He benefits from it to proscribe the partisans of Sylla to Rome. The principal members of the senatorial aristocracy are put at died and their confiscated goods. Marius names itself, without election, with a seventh consulate, and it takes Cinna as colleague. He dies thirteen days after his entry in load (January 13rd -86).
