India

    • One of the Brâhmana S reports that the fire of god, Agni, set fire to the ground until the Aryens reach the river Sadânîrâ (Gandak). No Aryen dares to cross the river before the god did not purify other bank. Agni requires of an Aryan chief, Videgha Mâthava, to transfer it onto other bank: thus country of Videha is arianisé, before receiving the name of its colonizer. This legend is the only contemporary source referring to Aryan colonization.

  • Janaka, king de Videha and the father-in-law of Râma, is described like the guard of the ascetics propagating the new mystical doctrines of the Upanishad S.
  • In the south of Videha is the Magadha, then dominated by renegade Aryan tribes, which do not follow the rites vedic.

Death

  • Parshvadeva, 23e prophet Jaïna. It would have been born towards -817 with Bénarès and dies in the Magadha after a one month old young person.
