- Beginning of the reign of Nabû-mukin-zêri, king of Babylon.
- Beginning of the reign of Dared, king of Israel (fine in -724).
- In spite of the calls to calm of the prophet Isaïe, Achaz, king de Juda calls upon Téglath-Phalasar III whereas Jerusalem is besieged by Israel and Damas. Téglath-Phalasar intervenes at once, takes Damas and the appendix (Rêzin is killed), Israel devastation whose king Péqah is assassinated (deportation, destruction of Megiddo and Hazor). Téglath-Phalasar receives the tender of its successor, Osée, wire of Ela, which pays a very heavy tribute. The Galaad, the Galileo and the Sharon become Assyrian provinces.
- Achaz of Juda is recognized vassal of the Assyrian king. Its policy of tender, religious syncretism and tolerance of the social injustices is vigorously denounced by the prophets Michée and Isaïe.

Achaz de Juda introduces paganism araméen and Assyrian into his country. It makes place a pagan furnace bridge in the Temple of Jerusalem. Figurines representing of the divinities of the fertility and the fragments of sculptures of horses relating of the discs to the face (worship of the god-sun Shamash) going back to this time were discovered in caves of Jerusalem.
