  • Beginning of the reign of Numa Pompilius, king sabin of Rome, according to the tradition (end in -672)
    • According to the tradition, Romulus disappears one day from storm in front of the people gathered at the Champ de Mars. He would have become a god and a worship is returned to him under the name of Quirinus. It reappears to announce that the desire of the gods is that Rome becomes capital world.
    • Numa Pompilius, inspired by the nymph Egérie, organizes the civil and religious life in Rome (college of the saliens, vestals, pontiffs, division of the year in 12 months…). It creates the collegia craftsmen (professional associations).
  • Foundation of the Temple of Janus, god of the war, in the north of the Forum.
