Events

August 9th: César demolishes Pompée and the senatorial army with Pharsale (Thessalie).
Pompée flees in Egypt then is assassinated the September 28th with Pelusium by the men of Ptolémée XIII.
Jules César unloads in Egypt two days after the assassination of Pompée.
In the conflict which opposes in Egypt, Ptolémée XIII and its sister Cléopâtre VII this one is initially overcome and escapes towards Ascalon where it undoubtedly finds new reinforcements since during the summer the two sovereigns face towards Péluse.

César again receives the dictatorship, but this time for one unlimited duration. It receives the right to be presented to the consulate five years of continuation, the right of peace and war, the right to have the Praetorian provinces, the right to designate by the votes of the people the candidates to be elected with the various magistratures, except the tribunat and plebeian municipal administration, the collation with life of the power tribunician.

It gives to Antipater the Roman citizenship with freedom from tax, the title of procurator (épitropos) of Judaea and the permission to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Joppé and the cities of the plain are again attached to Hyrcan II.
