Judaea
- With died of Pumped, Hyrcan II and Antipater join in César. Antipater supports militarily and diplomatically the countryside of Mithridate III, combined of César, in Egypt (- 48/-47). It directs an auxiliary body Juif, obtains the support of the Arab and the princes of Syria and rejoins the Jewish garrisons of the “territory of Onias”, in the east of the Delta. In reward, César confirms in Hyrcan II its title of high priest and that of ethnarque returns to him. It gives to Antipater the Roman citizenship with freedom from tax, the title of procurator (épitropos) of Judaea and the permission to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Joppé and the cities of the plain are again attached to Hyrcan II.
