- Cimon with the head of the fleet of the Ligue of Délos goes in Thrace and forces the Perses to be locked up in the town of Eion which it besieges and takes. The Persian general Bogès commits suicide with his men by setting fire to the city with all his treasures accumulated by his plunderings. This event opens the way with the colonization of the valley of the Strymon.
- Athens sends a colony to Eion which will be massacred by the Thrace S in -465/-464.
