Périclès reacts skilfully while separating united, certainly by buying the king de Sparte Pleistoanax, then turning over in Eubée by signing treaties with the various cities specifying their rights and their obligations towards Athens. Two clérouquies are created with Chalcis and Oréos to maintain the island in obedience.
  • Exile of the king de Sparte Pleistoanax.
  • Peace Thirty Years, negotiated by Callias, concluded between Athenian and Spartans: recognition of each hegemonic system by the other, but at the price, for the Athenians, of a flashback (they lose the Achaïe and Mégare and leave hegemony on the Béotie with Thèbes).
