  • Sending of 1000 clérouques (colonists) in Chersonèse, of 500 with Naxos, 250 with Andros, and of 1000 in Thrace, on the initiative of Périclès.

  • Foundation of the panhellenic colony of Thourioi in Italy, to replace Sybaris, on proposal of Périclès. The Corinthians react to this colonization which threatens their interests (see also 446 av. J-C. and 444 av. J-C.).
