  • Philippe II of Macedonia makes the seat of Méthone (it loses an eye during the engagements).
  • Spring: Philomélos, strategist of Phocidiens, is overcome by the amphictions with Néon, in Phocide. It would have thrown top of a cliff.
  • Onomarchos is elected strategist of Phocidiens.
  • In summer, Thèbes sends in Asia 5000 hoplites to the help of the satrap revolted Artabaze under the direction of the strategist Pamménès. Onomarchos, the new strategist of Phocidiens uses the treasures of the temple of Apollon for raising 20  000 mercenaries. The war begins again between Lycophron de Phères and other Thessaliens. Phocidiens are combined with Phères, hoping to control Thessalie to obtain the majority with the Amphictyonie.

  • Reforms of Eubule, in favor of peace and opposed to the policy imperialist, Athens: the budget surpluses are transferred from the military bottom ( stratiôtikon ) to the bottom of the spectacles ( théôrikon ), thus benefitting the poor citizens. The good management of Eubule allows a vast program of town planning and the construction of trières. This policy gives the Athenians a few years of great prosperity, but also will block their resistance to Philippe.
