The Astéroïde 2685 Masursky was photographed by far (1,6 million km) by the Sonde Cassini-Huygens the January 23rd 2000 during its voyage towards the stage Jupiter on the way for Saturn (see below).
It bears the name of Harold Masursky (1923 - 1990), famous geoplanetologist, a major participant in the programs Mercury and Apollo, like with the missions Viking and Voyager.
Although pertaining to the Family of Eunomie, the data obtained by Cassini-Huygens seem to cancel that its spectral Type astéroïdal is S. the results are inconclusive.
