The Astéroïde (2247) Hiroshima was thus baptized in homage to the martyrdom city of Hiroshima, where approximately 250.000 civilians in the first nuclear bombardment of the history of humanity perished, the August 6th 1945.
This asteroid was discovered the September 24th 1960, by Cornelis Johannes van Houten and Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld
