(158) Coronis

The Astéroïde (158) Coronis ( (158) Koronis ) was discovered by Viktor Knorre the January 4th 1876, at the observatory of Berlin. Its name refers to Coronis girl of Phlégias, in the Greek Mythologie.
It is composed of rocks silicated and a mixture Fer - Nickel. Its Albédo is high.
It belongs to the family of the asteroids coronisiens, to which it gave its name. One of the members of this family, (243) Ida, became famous to be photographed by the Sonde Galileo. According to models based on the curve of luminosity, Koronis has a form similar to that of Ida, although being a little larger.
