(136472) 2005 FY9

(also written (136472) 2005 FY9 ), temporarily called Easter Bunny in a nonofficial way, is an object of the Ceinture of Kuiper of a dimension from 1.200 to 1.800 km, i.e. quite higher than smallest of dwarf planets, (1) Cérès which makes 959,2×932,6 km. Easter Bunny at summer discovered by Michael E. Brown, Chadwick Trujillo and David Rabinowitz of the California Institute off Technology .

Discovered

Easter Bunny was detected on March 31st, 2005 starting from observations carried out with the Space telescope Spitzer by the team of the Caltech which had already discovered several large objects transneptuniens like (50000) Quaoar and (90377) Sedna. This team announced her discovery on July 29th, 2005, at the same time as that of (136199) Éris and the same day as " Santa ", two other large transneptuniens objects.

Cut

The size of is not yet known with precision, but the first measurements estimate it between 50 and 75% of that of Pluton, are between 1.200 and 1.800 km diameter. It seems to be similar in the face with Santa, although slightly more luminous, which do of it one of the largest objects of the belt of Kuiper ever detected, after Éris and Pluton.

Orbits

turn around the Sun according to a strongly inclined orbit and enough eccentric 308 years.
