八
Use
This kanji is often used like a Chiffre (see 一, 二, 三, 四, 五, 六, 七, 八, 九, 十, 百, 千, 万), it is used for Compter in Japanese. He is also used in the names of month in Japanese with the kanji 月 (to be consulted for more information).
In Japanese, just like in the majority of the languages, there exists a symbolic system of the figures; thus, 八 represents the infinite one, by its two arms opening on this one, a little as our 8 represents the Infini by its layout without beginning nor end (it is enough to look at the sign ∞ indicating the infinite one to be convinced some).
