… And Justice for All
… And Justice For All is the fourth album studio of the group Metallica left the August 8th 1988 by Elektra Records.
The album is musicalement most complex, underground, anti-commercial and austere of the albums of the American four-bit byte left in the years 1980. Regarded as less good than the precedents ( Kill 'EM All , then Wrinkle The Lightning and Master Off Puppets ) by certain fans and regarded as the best by others, there remains nevertheless one of the albums worships of Metallica. The length of the compositions, and the roughness of the production divided the opinions: the songs last approximately 6 minutes, and the sound of the battery is very " cru". All this will be re-examined and corrected with the very commercial Metallica (sometimes called Black album ) which made them lose number of Metallibasher S (or fans of the first hour) with the profit of a new generation of younger fans and sometimes not having known these the first four albums democratizing and consécrant the group in the general public. Indeed, the sound of battery on Black Album is a reference, and the compositions are much less long and tortuous that on. Justice.
… And Justice For All represents for many fans and critics like the completion of developments in the technologies of the Thrash metal. The front S and the sound of Guitar S of Hetfield and Hammett as well as the double pédalage and the sound of clear Case and Grosse case used by Ulrich carry Metallica in the Speed the blackest metal most violent and of the time. The Chanson S on … And Justice For All are thématiquement in the line of the preceding albums treating of policy and social problems and avoiding the mystical or occult subjects. This album was composed following the death of Cliff Burton, and it will be a manner of showing that they are nevertheless able to produce a music " dure".
Federator titles such as One , Blackened or Dyers Eve belong to the history of the metal.
The title … And Justice For All probably refers to film of the same title left in 1979 with Al Pacino and which turns around a history of blackmail exerted on a judge. They are also the last words of the Serment of allegiance ( Pledge off Allegiance ) of the " United States; (…)one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
One is regarded as legendary by the fans, based on the non-moins legendary novel Johnny is gone-T from there war - Johnny got his gun - of Dalton Trumbo adapted to the screen and carried like film-worship and symbol of the pacifist fight to the the United States at the time of the Guerre of Vietnam. It should be noted that this song is undoubtedly one of most known of Metallica.
The beginning of The Frayed Ends off Sanity is the topic of the walk of the soldiers of the malicious witch who originally appears in “the Magician of OZ”.
To Live Is To Die is a homage to the Bassiste Cliff Burton deceased before this album. Although the track is regarded as instrumental, it contains words written by Burton and called by Hetfield. It marks the entry of the bass player Jason Newsted after the death of Cliff Burton.
