Škofja Loka

Škofja Loka is a city and a municipality of Slovenia. It is located at 22 km in the North-West of the capital Ljubljana. The common one counts today a little more than 22.000 inhabitants (of which the half resides in the city itself) on a surface of 145 km ².

With Ptuj and Piran, it is one of the oldest cities of Slovenia, founded in 973. Devastated by the wars of the 15th century and an earthquake in 1511, it was largely rebuilt at the 16th century, with the example of its castle. Its historical center is protected since 1987.
