Ştefan VI Rareş

Ştefan VI Rareş or Etienne VI Rareş prince de Moldavie of 1551 with 1552.

Second wire of the prince Pierre IV Rareş and of the princess Serbe Jelena Brankovic it is born about 1532.

The June 11th 1551 it succeeds his/her brother Ilie II Rareş who had abdicated. After an unfruitful attempt at bringing together with the imperial ones it is combined with Turkish against the Emperor Ferdinand Ier de Habsbourg. He undertakes without success an invasion of Transylvania which is pushed back. Its manners dissolus, attracted the enmity of the boyards to him which assassinate it in its tent on the edge of the Prut on September 1st 1552.
