Œcolampade

Jean Husschin said, Œcolampade (1482 - 1531) is a reforming , humanistic and preacher Switzerland-German.

He makes studies of right and theology in Bologna and Heidelberg.

1482 : Birth of Johannes Hausschein to Weinsberg in Palatinat.
1515 : Collaborate with Erasme in the edition of New Testament.
1518 : Is named preacher with Basle then with Augsburg. Discover the writings of Luther.
1522 : Joined the group of humanistic in Erbenburg around Sickingen.
1523 : In Basle, in contact with Oecolampade, Guillaume Farel strengthens his doctrines Lutheran.
1526 - 1528: Direct the protesting party to the Dispute S of Bade and Bern.
1523 : Undertakes comments biblical at the university.
1525 : Becomes priest with Saint Martin's day and forwards the city to the adoption of the Reform.
1529 : Of return to Basle, it is essential like the chief of the Reform and becomes Pasteur of the cathedral and chief of the church bâloise, Calvin reforms Geneva, Zurich is reformed by Zwingli. In the same year it takes part in the Colloque of Marbourg, helped of Bucer it tries to link the divergent positions of Zwingli and Luther on the presence of Christ in the Eucharistie. Œcolampade creates laic presbyteries and separates from the Lutherans by a design different from Cène.

It takes an active share with the establishment of the Reform with Ulm, Memmingen like in Biberach. It takes part in the conversion of the of Vaud to Protestantism.
