Ľudovít Rajter
Ľudovít Rajter is a Leader, Compositeur and teaching Slovak, born the July 30th 1906 with Pezinok and dead the July 6th 2000 with Bratislava.
Biography
It begins its studies of music in Bratislava then goes in 1924 to the Academy of music of Vienna in order to be devoted to the direction of orchestra and the composition. Its professors are the type-setters Franz Schmidt and Joseph Marx, while it directs near Clemens Krauss and Alexander Wunderer. In 1933, it leaves to Budapest to study under the direction of Ernő Dohnányi.From 1933 to 1945, it directs the Orchestre of the Radio of Budapest and teaches with the Académie of music Franz-Liszt.
From 1949 to 1976, it goes back to Bratislava in order to occupy the functions of chief of the Slovak Philharmonic orchestra, previously created by Václav Talich, and to teach the direction of orchestra at the University of music of Bratislava. From 1968 to 1976, it also directs the Orchestre of the Radio of Bratislava.
Repertory
During more than 60 years of career, Rajter acquired a considerable international reputation and was made known as well in the concert halls as by its recordings which include in particular the four symphonies of Franz Schmidt of which it tries to rehabilitate a work somewhat put at the variation.
