Đà Lạt
Đà Lạt is a city of the Việt Nam of 130.000 inhabitants and capital of the province of Lâm Đồng to the High plateaus of the Center. Its French inhabitants are called " dalatois."
The site was discovered by the famous doctor Yersin at the time of one of its first forwardings. It installed there a sanatorium with the assistance of Paul Doumer to allow, between-other, with colonial to recover tirednesses due to the tropical climate. Its Latin currency is besides Dat Laetitiam Aliis Aliis Temperiem which means “It gives to the ones the joy, with the others good time”.
Romantic town of mountain, Đà Lạt exerts an important tourist attraction thanks to its landscapes: water falls, lakes, luxuriant meadows and flowered valleys, its colonial villas whose style points out the architecture of the provinces of the old metropolis. One finds villas Normans there as well as Savoyard country cottages or Basque houses. Its station, inspired by that of Deauville, is famous.
Two important conferences for the future of the peninsula were held there in 1946.
A school of children reared by the army Eurasian was there founded in September 1939 then transferred to Kampuchea into 1944 before returning in Dalat in 1946 when it functioned until 1954. At the end of 1950, the general Jean de Lattre de Tassigny created a military academy there for the National army Vietnamese loyal supporter with the emperor Bao Dai whom one called quickly the Vietnamese Saint-Cyr military school. Đà Lạt is also called the city of the eternal spring because the average temperature in winter never goes down below 10ºC, and in summer, it does not exceed 25ºC. This soft and lenient climate makes it possible the town of have a large variety of cultures of flowers and fruits.
