Ālayavijñāna (Sanskrit), indicates in the Bouddhisme the " conscience fondamentale".
Introduction
Fundamental conscience, or " base tout" , of the karmic traces
is the receptacle. It is it which causes the activity of conscience plugged by the belief in a " soi". The existence of this conscience is taught by the school
Cittamātra.
Consciences
The conscience,
Vijñāna, are one of the four component psychic of the
nobody , or rather of what is taken for a person, and that the Bouddhisme studies like a whole of transitory phenomena
and impersonal.
According to Buddhist psychology, there exist six directions: five directions that are the sight, hearing, the taste, the sense of smell, touch, as well as the direction " mental" , related to the five first. With these six directions six sensory consciences correspond.
According to the school Cittamātra, there exists, moreover, two other consciences; a soiled conscience, or kliṣṭamanas, and Ālayavijñāna.
Idealism
The
Cittamātra recognizes only the existence of the consciences: there is not " only esprit". Its teaching of Ālayavijñāna is corollary of this thought; the duality subject-object is refused, it is known as " établie" , while the nature conditioned of the phenomena, their dependant nature, only exite.
A conscience support
It constitutes a D.C. current.
Base
The ālayavijñāna is active so much which passivates. It is the base, the receptacle of the seeds, which are the cause of all; more precisely, the ālayavijñāna is the cause of the manifestation of the soiled conscience, klistamanas.
Result
The ālayavijñāna is remuneration, result (vipaka). However, they is characterized by all the seeds, which do not have pad of another support.
Suspension
With the attack of the awakening, the ālayavijñāna cease, or becomes
Amalavijñāna, “pure conscience”.
