×wittrockiana violated
The Viola ×wittrockiana are the thought prevalent variety of of the gardens. They are long-lived herbaceous plants, generally cultivated like the bi-annual ones, of the family of the Violacée S. It exists very many varieties about it which result from hybridization between several species of Violette S (kind Viola ), in particular Viola altaica Ker Gawl., Viola cornuta L., Viola lutea Huds., Viola tricolor L. They exist only in a cultivated state. They produce large very beautiful flowers the first year of their flowering, but which decay the following years especially if one lets them go up to seeds.
