Ôlolé review

Ôlolé was a Breton weekly magazine for children creates by Herry Caouissin and Vefa de Bellaing. It appeared of 1940 with 1944 and of 1970 to 1973, under the title titrates l' Appel of Ololé .

  • the Wolves of Coatmenez and the Crusade of the Wolves of Jeanne Coroller-Danio were published for the first time in 1943 - 1944, in various episodes, in this weekly magazine. A republication of this work was carried out in 1995 by the editions BSI-Elor. It is about a version expurgée of those of 1942 and 1963, including/understanding multiple allusions anti-semites. In this adventure, the robbers are two Jews, Isaac and Jacob “whose accent is foreign (…) and the nose is not Christian” (Ololê, January 19th 1941, p. 2 and edition 1963, p. 10). The edition of 1963 systematically made disappear the word youpin replaced by robber .

The tales join together: " The Plague and the plowman; A serious Business; The Miracle of the hive; The Hermit who did not have any more fire; Monks of Cuburien". 1943. Its booklet, with an aim of " Breton cultural propaganda for youth " , tells the history of two young people captive gangsters with research of a treasure on Taureau".
