Érié (in English: Erie ) is a city and the seat of the county of Érié in the State of Pennsylvania, on the coasts of the Lac Érié, it counted 103.717 inhabitants in 2000.

Its name comes to him from the lake, which him even car its name of the tribe Érié which lived on southern bank before the arrival of Europeans. Érié was called Gem City ( gem means invaluable English stone) because of its étincelant lake.
