Personalities related to the commune
It is the native land of Suzanne Delérablée (born on September 25th, 1770 and married on January 28th, 1797 in Epieds, and deceased with Croth on April 21st, 1811). Dr. Jacques-Desired Laval often went there to return visit to the abbot Létard, priest of this parish. The small church in the middle of the cemetery is always there. It is too large today for the small number of practitioners. There is no more priest resident. In the church one always sees the furnace bridge, the confessional and other objects dating from the time of the Father Jacques-Desired Laval. The Létard abbot was his friend and his confidant of the years of seminar and priesthood. It is on the territory of this commune that on March 14th, 1590 the battle of Ivry took place, victory of Henri IV against the duke of Mayenne. To point out the place where the king rested after this battle, Napoleon Bonaparte visits some in the village made set up an obelisk in 1802.
