History

Perhaps the name comes from Latin spicarium , building where the grains are piled up.

Gallic vestiges discovered on the territory of the commune attest the occupation of the place during the Antiquité. The village belonged under the Ancien Mode to the chapter of the Church of Paris. Remained an agricultural commune, cereal field crop in particular, the village lost part of its territory since the years 1970 following two expropriations which had with the successive enlargings of the Aéroport Roissy-Charles-of-Gaulle close. This expansion partly causes the progressive reduction in the population since 1974.
