Éowyn

Éowyn is a character of the novel of J.R.R. Tolkien, the Lord of the Rings .

Niece of the king de Rohan Théoden, and sister of Éomer, Éowyn fell in love with Aragorn, descendant of Isildur. But she liked of him only one hope of reputation and the heart of this one was already bound by the love which it dedicated to Arwen Undómiel since their meeting with Imladris many years before and their oath pronounced in Lothlórien.

Secretly, it took part in the penultimate battle of the war for the safeguard of the Ground of the Medium, accompanied by Merry, her faithful friend. She was confronted with the lord of the Nazgûl, the King-Wizard of Angmar, and lost her beloved uncle who collapsed under the weight of his horse Nivacrin.

After the war, she married Faramir, intendant of Gondor, the son of Denethor II, and lived happy in Ithilien, in the North of the Kingdom of Gondor.
